Default Eliminate C5 F45

I've read through just about every thread I can find on here about the F45 suspension, and now I'm posting my own questions:

1) Where the heck is the module? I know it's in the back (and I frankly haven't looked real close), but where in the trunk do I look?

2) And this one's more involved. I bought a 1999 coupe in September. It has F45, but I'm fairly confident, based on the price paid and the records from the previous owner, it does not have the F45 shocks. I don't get any messages (I have a couple frequent fliers in the DIC, but they're not shock related) about the shocks, so I decided to switch my traction control switch to the one that doesn't have the F45 dial. It worked fine for about three days, but then I got an error message for the suspension. I put the old switch back (with the F45 dial) and the message went away. Should I look to see if the previous owner did the resistor trick (and where would I look?)? And if not... huh?

I'm brand new to Corvette ownership, and am looking forward to doing a lot of work on this in my own garage. I'm trying to track down a Tech II somewhere here in the great state of Nebraska that is not at a dealership. Ultimately, I want to put C6 Z06 shocks and sways on it, but it's got a litany of other issues that need to taken care of first. I do have the 1999 service manuals.

Thanks!

UPDATE: I'm getting smarter. I found the module behind the driver's side rear wheel in the well. I had not taken off the cover for the module. SO, do I disconnect it and see what happens?

You need a Tech II to be able to remove all the parts. If it has the resistors they will be down there where the F45 shocks plugged in by the shocks mounts

Thank you. Like I said, I've read about everything I can on the Forum about it, but there are things that don't add up about mine, IMHO.

Thanks!
