I picked it up today at Autozone. In the weatherstripping aisle, its called balloon-style weatherstrips. It has the identical shape of the one's being sold by Ecklers and Zip Products! http://store4.yimg.com/I/zipproducts-c4c5_1733_7933153

Price is $14.99 and its 8 feet long!!! On the back it even mentions OEM manufacturer that uses this weatherstrip...and Chevy is listed. So, I paid my $14.99 and 6% sales tax...I am happy and I don't have to pay for any shipping costs! Enjoy y'all. ;)

Okay Gang,

Here is the specs on this steal of a buy from Autozone for the Hood seal!!!!

Bulb Style Weatherstrip (by Metro Moulded Parts, Inc)
Actual size 7/8" x 3/4" x 8ft.

I did my car this morning and there is enough to seal the hood of any 2 vettes. The fit and finish on this product is fantastic, it is a supersoft EPDM sponge rubber that has a superstrong doublestick tape.

My process:
--Cleaned my hood seal area with simple green then dried off w/ clean paper towel.
--Cleaned area with rubbing alcohol and let air dry.
--Cut bulb style weatherstrip and pulled off 12" of backing away.
--Began from right side and taped to clean hood at 1/8" away from the side (i did not like the look of the weatherstripping bulging between the crevice of the hood). NOTE: once you tape it down it won't be repositionable, the mounting tape is VERY TACKY AND STRONG!
--Kept pulling 12" of backing away until complete.
--Closed hood...VIOLA... Great seal.

ANOTHER NOTE: THIS PRODUCT IS THICKER THEN THE ECKLERS AND ZIPPS PRODUCT, IF YOU TAPE THIS PRODUCT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE HOOD BUTTING UP TO THE SIDE THERE WILL BE A SIGNIFICANT BULGE OF WEATHER STRIPPING POPPING OUT BETWEEN THE HOOD AND THE CAR, WHICH IS WHY I TAPED MINE 1/8" AWAY FROM THE SIDE (INSTEAD OF BUTTING IT RIGHT UP TO THE SIDE AND BOTTOM.

Got mine on the way home from work yesterday after reading this post. Installed it and ran in the WCCC today. It cut my 1/4 mile time 3/10's of a second. Great mod!!!!
