RP MOTORSPORTS!!!
Just wanted to post an experience to everyone on this forum. If you are in the Atlanta area and looking for someone to tune your car, RP Motorsports should be the last place to go. We do not have very many options in the Atlanta area, and being somewhat new to this, I chose to go with them after my Cartek stage 2X H/C package was installed. First of all the car was not ready when promised, then when I did finally get it back, the car would not idle good, when it would idle, it was at about 1200 rpms. The car was running very rich, I had lost about 8 miles to the gallon. My A/F was at 11 to 1. My rev limiter had not been adjusted as they said it would be. When was going down the road and I would push the clutch in and coast, the car would idle up to 1900 rpms and stay there until I came to a complete stop. My power was not where I thought it should be, but I am not putting the blame on them for that. My hp and tq numbers were 401 rwhp and 370 tq. Well I called them back and told them how unhappy that I was and they told me to bring it back a week later. I then started doing more research and found that many people had been having this same problem. Therefore I did not really want them touchng my car anymore. I went to Lamar Walden Automotive and had Tom Garland "nevrenuf" here on the forum, tune my car. He said that my hp was really only 381. After he was finished with it, I gained another 15 hp and now my idle is great and all of my other issues are satisfied. I called RP Motorsports back today and told them my story, and asked for at least part of my $600 back, and of course they told me that they would not do anything. To make a long story short, there is only one place in the Atlanta area to go for LS-1 edit and that is Lamar Walden Automotive.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I can say that when you are going to modify your car, everything is not going to turn out as perfect as some people on this board would like for all of us to believe. I don't see th point of bashing shops on forums becuase we are only going to see one side of the story... I would like to hear what RP Motorsports would like to say. I have worked in the customer service for pretty all my life and it just kills me when I see people jumping on the bandwagon and bashing people when they have no clue of what the other side of the story is.

Tom Garland is a great guy and really knows his LS1 tuning.
So what were the final numbers of your Heads/Cam package after Tom finished working his magic?

You're not the first person I've heard this from. I believe Lamar Waldon is the only viable tuner I've heard of in our area. In fact I plan on paying Lamar a visit in the next week or so.

I hate to hear that I am in nashville and was going to send my car there for a ls1 edit and nitrous and header install. Anybody know of where I can send it for this?

I thought we recommended Lamar for you before over RP or maybe I am thinking of someone else.
They put my Big Bore motor in. They were 2 weeks late, did not hook up my VSS sensor which caused a ton of little problems, and "I" somehow lost the front brake screen while it sat with them for a month. Just my experience...
Stick with honest guys that know what they are doing like Tom(nevrenuf) and Lamar Walden.
