Marvel Mystery Oil in gas tank?
This is related to the infamous gas gauge problem.
I had my sending units replaced back in November and have been using Shell gasoline as per fellow forum member recommendations. I also just started using Chevron Techron additive. All in hope's of preventing the problem from reoccuring.
Someone also recommended putting Marvel Mystery Oil in the tank also. I add it to my truck, but that's my truck. The instructions do say you can add 4 oz./18 gallons of fuel to help keep everything clean and lubricated.
What do you think?
Opinions appreciated.

I use MMO in the gas for my John Deere 318 and the rest of my yard equipment, but those engines don't have any sensors, cats, etc. that may have a problem. Then again, maybe it's not a problem.

I have been using it for years. Some will say it is "snake oil", but it is a good upper-cylinder lube. In addition (knock on wood) I have never had a gauge problem on the Vette, which now has 52K miles. It is also an excellent honing oil to help sharpen your knives.... :yesnod: :)

I used it in my 87 and finally donated it with no engine work at 198,000 miles. I guess we'll see about this c5 so I will let you know in about 10 years and 180,000 more miles.
