How much horse power does the air conditioner compressor use?
Thanks
Thanks
But remember that the SAE Net HP Rating already takes the compressor into account.

What I want to know is how much horsepower does the compressor actually use when it is running.

These new rotary type compressors are very efficient. Not much drag at all.
Couple that with the ECM which shuts the compressor off during WOT and you have a very effective setup.
I remember the older GM style compressors. long and round with I think 5 pistons.. now that was a drag on HP.
