LS1/6 intakes are plastic, with 8 small pressed in gaskets (one on each port).
Not only do they not leak, they are nearly infinitely reusable.

For the C5's, Chevrolet has replaced the leaking intake manifolds from the L98's and LT1's with defective column lock modules and defective fuel gauges on the LS1's.

For the C5's, Chevrolet has replaced the leaking intake manifolds from the L98's and LT1's with defective column lock modules and defective fuel gauges on the LS1's.

Actually GM has been working from front to back in fixing the leak problems -- on the C5 they have made it all the way back to the differential! :hurray:

No the C5 intakes have been pretty much maintenance free.
