Default Help: oil pressure guage is pegged

The other day I start the car and the oil pressure guage peggs over to the max. I pull up the digital read out and its says 130 psi and doesn't move under any conditions, oil level is fine and no codes set in the DIC. Bad oil pressure sending unit ? Any body else experience this? my C5 a '99 is probably around 80K miles.

I had exactly the same symptoms at about the same mileage. Replacing the sending unit solved the problem.

sounds like the oil pressure sender... While you are in there... you may as well put a LS6 intake on..... :D

The yellow arrow directs you to it. Of course, you don't have to take nearly this much stuff off to get to it. Just the intake that sits over it and the components that allow you to pull the intake manifold.
