HP gain from just roller rockers?
I am looking to be slightly faster, wanting to lose .1-.2 off my ET.
Would roller rockers be the ticket?
I already have all the bolt ons.
I know some of you will say bump up from the Yank 3000 to a 3500, but I think HP, not traction is the answer.
Are rockers the right path? Cam only maybe?
Help.
Thanks,
Ellis

A Cam with new springs would be much better... :yesnod: :smash: I went the rocker route, spent much money and had little results... :cuss Dont waste your time with 1.8 or 1.85 rockers... :nono:

Roller rockers effectively increase the lift of the cam. Cam lift numbers are figured on the stock rocker arm ratios. You could probably get 10-20hp from the 1.85 rockers, but (as I'm no drag racing expert) I doubt that will get you a tenth in the 1/4. The higher the vavle lift, the harder it is on springs.

Re: HP gain from just roller rockers? (lowdowndirty)
Hello...
If you are running a stock LS1 head, increasing the lift with the higher ratio rockers will just about be worthless (maybe a few HP..) The reason for this is that head is all done at .500 lift, and in fact goes flat to a few CFM south as you approach .550....If you were running a ported head or even an LS6 head, the higher ratio would tend to be a larger benefit because the head continues to gain momentum up to .550 which is where the LS6 stock head peaks before falling off sharply as you approach .600 lift. Also, if you were to find a way to pick up 20 HP, it would be exactly 2 tenths in the quarter (or dam close..) and would add about 2 MPH to your trap speed. This is assuming your current combination generates about 350-400 HP currently. I don't know to what extent your current combination is modified, but I would say that if you haven't installed long tube headers yet, that would certainly get you 20+, and of course a cam swap will also show you at least the same....just some food for thought...

I think if you read my bio, I have all the needed bolt on mods, but I'll list them, so I can get a gage as to what you guys think I should do..
Vararam Cold Air intake, LS-6 manifold, TPIS Long Tube headers, Random Tech pipes with built in X pipe & high flo cats, GHL exhaust, 3:42's, Yank 3000, LS-1 Edit tuning.
RWHP is 340
TQ is 358
So what will give me the desired .1-.2 & 20-30 HP now..??

IMO, you should stop fooling around with bolt on's and just install a cam and new springs... you will have great results and you will fly down the 1/4 mile!!

It would work but I would not get that cam... Get the 224/224/581/114 lsa cam. You have to change your springs anyway... might as well get the good cam and springs and have great results and still be smog legal.
