Default c5 6 speed conversion

Does anyone know of a 6 speed conversion for a c5? My 4L60E went out so now is a good time to change if available.

My car goes in Monday to A.R.E for this conversion. I bought ALL the parts myself from various vendors. Karshop, ValveGod, Crashed 94.

Parts needed:

Tranny
Torque Tube
Bellhousing
Tranny wire harness
Shifter
Shifter rod and linkage
Shifter boot
Clutch
Master Cylinder
Slave Cylinder
Clutch and brake pedals

I'm in the process of it right now. Hey Buckmaster, could you do me a HUGE favor and post a pic of the trans. harness??? I've been told it connects to the ECM harness but my search has came up empty handed!

Hmmmmmmmm. Long. Maybe 5+ feet? There are quite a few connectors too  Sorry I can't get specific. It's all bundled up for A.R.E. Monday. Looks complicated to me.

I was told you don't have to have a diffrent wiring harness if you are going to a manual. Is this correct?? I'm trading with a guy in Dallas (goldmember) and we thought that he needs my auto harness but I don't need one from him?? Any ideas??

Well..............if you have Active Handling I believe you need a harness that has it! Also the M6 harness will have a skip shift connector, a reverse inhibitor connector, etc....I am certain you need a M6 tranny harness!!!!!

Thanks but I have the diagrams- I was thinking that it was a small piece that just plugged into the harness- but I think that it is the whole harness!!

We did this for my wife's '02 vert. Buckmaster's list seems to be pretty complete...regarding the harness, I think you definitely needs the trans harness, which is probably about 4 or 5 feet long. You do not need to replace the body/dash harness (which is good, 'cause that would be a major PITA!!).

We got all of our parts from Gene's Kar Shop - I'd definitely recommend using him. He can get everything you'd need, and he'll stand behind what he sells you.

It actually turned out to be less work that we thought; it's not as crazy a change as everybody thinks it will be! :D Plus you can go with a Z06 trans if you want to (we did), which is pretty cool. The other thing you'll have to do is get your computer reprogrammed; if you know someone at a local dealer, they may be able to help you out with this.

Good luck,
Collin

I could be wrong but I don't think the tranny harness has those connections. It has quite a few connectors on it and will run the length of the tranny, torque tube and into the appropriate connectors in the engine bay area or around there. It is a quite large wire harness.

It all depends on if you go with any upgraded parts such as a clutch and tranny. I went with an upgraded clutch and tranny but everything else is stock. If you go with ALL stock parts....it will be about $2000.

Depends on what year you are doing. I did a 98 I had, the car had a rear mounted EBTCM, the harness I had was for a front mounted EBTCM. I had to put the 2 harnesses together to make one including relocating all the wheel speed sensors.

Has anyone ever heard or tried converting the 6-speed transmission to a paddle shifter. That would be cool
