Go for the Vortech Supercharger:
"Each Vortech supercharging system, unless otherwise noted, meets both the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) requirements for classification as 50 state emissions legal under CARB EO # D-213-17. "

What IS funny is that you can bolt on a supercharger and easily gain 150hp legally, but you can't use a Blackwing air filter.
Gawd I'm glad I don't live in that  state.

Re: CARB legal turbo ? (Y2Kvert4me)
I guess I thought it was because I lived there for 7 years, SMOG testing was unreal in LA and Orange Co. And yes in alot of ways it's BIG MONEY....Good Luck to you..............hey at least you have that GREAT weather

I didn't think the question was quite that funny, as there are CARB exempted supercharger kits for C5's.

Re: CARB legal turbo ? (allanlaw)
The main reason most turbo kits won't be CARB approved is one, it costs a ton of $$ to go through all the hoops to recieve a CARB number, two you cannot change the placement or number of catalytic converters on a car. This alone would make it almost impossible, but maybe with a very well packaged twin setup it MAY be possible. Many companies (none on this board) will simply apply for CARB approval knowing that they will never be approved. Its just a marketing ploy so that they can list their product as CARB approval pending. Just some experience from several other turbo companies I have dealt with in the past (on my mustang, supra and rx7). :seeya
