HELP, '98 won't start.... p1518 and p0601
my 98 coupe hasn't started for weeks. it is giving me 2 codes p1518 and p0601. after doing searches of archived posts, it seemed that most people with p1518 had problems with thier TAC module. well, i tried a new one with no luck. i also tried mine in a friends car and it worked like a charm. what could be wrong? the battery is good, the engine seems to be getting fuel, but thier is definately NO SPARK. i also checked every fuse and they are all good.
any insight would be appreciated.
thanks
joe

This is saying that you have some type of memory problem with the PCM and the other one is saying that the PCM is not reporting to the TAC correctly.
Have you done any work recently, maybe one of the connectors at the PCM is loose

Re: HELP, '98 won't start.... p1518 and p0601 (runamuk)
i haven't done any work. i was going to. on the day of the problem, i put the car up on jack stands and i was doing some stuff on the interior (cosmetic only) i had the door open for several hours and the battery ran down. i noticed a wierd noise coming from a relay or something and than the interior light went out. i changed the battery and than tried to start the car. wouldn't start and the codes came up.
