Breathe Deep?
The current issue of Corvette Fever has an article comparing the LS1, LS6 and LSX intake manifolds. Though the LS6 shows slight improvement over the LS1 unit it seems as though the LSX (made by comp cams) is by far and away the winner. The stock LS1 intake with a hot cam & headers netted 463 HP, the LS6 with a hot cam & headers totalled 469 HP and the LSX with cam produced 480 HP! Though only an 11 HP increase over the LS6 unit, hardcore performance folks will most likely look into the LSX unit as the endless pursuit of any and all HP is pursued. I know that my interest has certainly been piqued.

When you look at the peak don't forget to look down the line as well the gains start at 4K all the way to 6500 in both torque and hp--so the upper range really show significant gains and the more powerful your car is the more significant the gains are--several of the really high HP cars on the forum got 25rwhp from the setup and the strokers are getting 35rwhp for an apprx 1500 investment that is a deal, of course the tuning will bring it up by another 300 or so but the throttle response is unbelievable--

The investment for the intake and throttle body looks good.
But, the best bang for the buck is for the 90mm setup and not all the bugs have not been worked out of the tuning. I, for one, will not be going this route until I am sure that I can get it tuned correctly. There are only a few shops that seem to have the tuning figured out for the 90mm setup and they aren't close enough to me.
