Default Fuel Filter Location and Replacement

Where exactly is it located and how hard is it to replace? I was told that I should replace it. Any tips for the replacement?

Checked your sig. - a 2003 - unless you are really cranking alot of miles out why are you changing the fuel filter so soon? Might want to do a search to see want others are recommending on change intervals. I changed mine at 30K miles but it was 6.5 years old and found it only had the slighest restriction after I got it out.
BTW, if you change it - keep a rag handy, it's going to spill fuel on you.

I agree - seems very early to be changing unless it's defective or damaged. Here's a pic of mine.

The 2000 I had, had the original fuel filter. I changed it at 52000 miles and did not notice any difference. The filter was like $50.00, man that is like 10 Wendy's meals.
