Loudest Exhaust, Least Resonance/drone
After grenading my rear end Friday night the car is going in the shop Monday. Right now I have TPIS HEADERS, NO CATS AND BORLA STARIGHT PIPE(NO MUFFLERS OR RESONATERS) I posted last week and am leaning towards the stingers to cut down on the resonance. It's so bad between 1900-2200 I cant hear my 3k watt stereo. I was thinking prt's or stingers. Who has a catless long tube set up and what cat back are you running?
Thanks
Thanks

I have the GHL Bullet system ith LT headers and no cats and love the sound. I have a very slight drone at exactly 1500rpm, but anywhere else it's fine. It's quite loud when I want it to be, and quiet when I want it to be too...best of both worlds IMO.
Considering what you're using now, I'd suggest the Magnums.

GHL has 2 basic lines.
Magnums - Louder, 5" dia mufflers.
Bullets - Quieter, 6" dia. mufflers.
Thanks for the compliment, I absolutely love your car and wish I could have mine sitting like that.

I have Kooks LT headers, 3" offroad X-pipe, and B&B PRT's. There's almost no drone with the PRT's compared to the Borla Stingers they replaced.

Wow. What was the difference in sound comparing the two? Did you get ride of the stingers because of the drone?

Yes, I switched to the PRT's b/c of drone. Don't get me wrong, I still hear the motor while cruising, it's just not as loud. Plus I don't get that annoying resonance that rattles your brain, it's more of a deep purr now.

I too have the GHL Bullets (6") with LT headers and they can be pretty loud. I also occassionally have a slight resonance on the highway. Seems to be temperature dependant. Colder == louder/more resonance. Before the headers... not too loud and NO resonance. So headers wake these bad boys up. They can SCREAM at WOT and be pretty reasonable around town. That being said... ALL my neighbors have commented that they hear my car now and I keep it pretty mellow in the neighborhood. I do fear what will happen if I add the S/C in the future!
