Torque Tube

The torque tube is a structural aluminum tube in which the drive shaft is mounted and which connects the engine to the rear-mounted transmission. It resists the torque generated by the drive shaft, keeping the engine and tranny from spinning relative to each other due to the reactive torque that is a response to the driven torque transmitted through the drive shaft.
The C5 drivetrain - the torque tube is the large tube that spans the distance between the engine and tranny
Torque tube, tranny and differential from a manual shift C5
The torque tube itself
The slave cylinder for the clutch, the input spline of the drive shaft and the portion of the torque tube that bolts to the bell housing on the engine
