Default Which spark plug socket?

OK guys, I hear the driver side rear spark plug is a real bear to replace, but can be done with a swivel or knuckle socket. I have the ability for a short time to get Snap-On tools for 60% off, and was wondering if anybody knows which Snap-On knuckle socket in particular I need to buy. I don't even know what size plug socket I need. Can someone help me?

Thanks,

Dave

I just checked their web site and the double-swivel that I got from them is no longer available.

I believe the size is 5/8". I just use a regular spark plug socket with a universal joint added to it.

Want to buy me some snap-on tools?

Here's the link to what Patches is talking about:

See if that works. They have single universal joint, double universals, universals with extensions, etc..

I regular knuckle with a long extension works fine, I changed my flugs in 30 mins and it was my first time on a vette. No need for special knuckles, just a plain 5 bucks from sears.

forget the double swivel,, I found it to be more trouble than good,, i had real good luck with regular socket and a combination of extensions,,,the double swivel was a real easy way to bust plugs,,

Curious, I've used it many times and loaned it out to several guys who've used other sockets and none of us have had any problems.

Not that I care, one way or the other, mind you. Just my $.02.

Thanks for the help, everybody. Will probably try the combination of extensions and knuckles I currently have first. If that don't work....

Here is what I use and what you need:

By the way what kind of price can you get on a Snap-On 3/4" drive 250 ft. lbs. "Click" type torque wrench? Keep borrowing my buddies, need to get one of my own. Email me if you dont want to post, thanks...

Sorry meant 1/2" drive!

If you are breaking plugs then you are using the wrench wrong.

I purchased a set of SK double swivel sockets. Their part looks identical to the snap-on one.
