I was about to get just the ****. Do you mind telling me what the difference is between the c5 and c6 shifter. Is it shorter or something? If it's a functional upgrade I'd be in for one. Thanks for any info

The C6 shifter is a functional upgrade providing smoother shifts than the C5 shifter. It does this by a shorter throw and different angled shaft.

How easy is this to install? Is there a DIY anywhere for this?

To the members who have purchased/installed this.......How different is the shifting after this installation? Is it smoother and shorter shifting? It it easier and less effort then the original?

Look for Cultrag on ebay, I bought a complete upper and lower C6 shifter from them last year. Transaction went well but have not been able to get them to respond to questions regarding C6 Z51 sway bars, if they have item they do ship quickly.

Used not to be a problem until this site decided to show "related" threads, then all kinds of dead stuff pops up. Every other site I use archives old stuff.

BTW, I think I recall Gene going out of business some years back.

I put a C5 Z06 shifter in my 00 vert 21 years ago. Short throw and much shorter shaft. No need for any upgrade from that and it is completely plug and play. No mods needed for a perfect fit. Still working great to this day.
