Default Stock 2002 C5 Z06 fuel system Max?

I just bought a 2002 Z06 and have been looking for the details on the Z06's fuel system with no success.

My questions are. What size fuel pump do they have stock? What size fuel injectors?

I was wanting to know this info before I start throwing on big mods.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the injectors are 28-lb, and as far as the volume of the pump I haven't heard an exact number. I know it will generally support 500-600 hp without an issue. I make 510 to the tire on bottle (wet) with no fuel issues. My buddy's 02Z with a cam and headers makes ~420 on motor and is at the limit of the stock injectors, but has plenty of fuel. Makes 568 on the wet shot.

There are actually two fuel pumps, and two tanks, with a pump in each tank. One side pumps fuel into the other tank, and the other pumps into the engine.

Didn't know that 2 pumps like 03/04 Cobra. So in other words. INjectors are weakest link. Pumps could use a boost-a-pump and will be good for plenty of power..

Does your buddies car with the cam and headers with the bottle have any fuel upgrades at all?

Do you know what % your pumps were at?

I bought a Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump, I was just curious if I should rush to put it on. I am upping my jets in the Cold Fusion kit from 100hp to 150hp and I just dont want to run out of fuel..

You shouldn't need a BAP until you are over 600 rwhp. You will need injectors first, probably closer to 410-420 rwhp N/A before a pump. Just upping the wet shot to a 150 won't be enough to exhaust the stock pumps.

Bringing this back to life. What do you guys thing the limit of the stock fuel pump is when running something like SVO 30lb injectors? When does the pump need to be upgraded? Are the Z06 fuel pumps the same as a regular c5 pumps?

I think it's been answered, most are saying 600 rwhp. Your 30 lb. injector will run out before your pump.

Ok, I take it F-body guys have a lesser stock pump than ours? Most of the LS1tech guys and even the Racetronicx website state they need there upgraded fuel pump and hotwire setup to achieve 600whp. That is if you have the 97-98 return style fuel rail, if not you will run out of pressure at the rail even sooner. I understand Racetronix is selling a product, but it seems valid and my Z has the regulator/return on the fuel filter.

If the hotwired upgraded pump can only hit 600whp can the c5 stock returnless rail fuel system provide enough flow for 550+whp? It just doesn't seem possible if someone else sells a pump kit to do the same.

Another guy over on ls1tech thought the stock fuel pump would only be good up to 450whp and he sells fuel systems for the turbo/blown cars. I'm sure a lot of you have gone over 450whp, but does anybody really know what the limitations are

I just Dynoed my car today and got 527 out of it at the tire with my stock pump and no problems. I bought a boost-a-pump and plan on putting it in but havent yet. I was going to wait until I install the camshaft. Hope this helps...

My car on the motor made 430 at the tire. I had not touched any part of the fuel system then (including the injectors).

On the button I am at 583 now on the 150hp kit. I am going to try the 200 jets now that I have the boost-a-pump. I will post of the A/F when I get a chance to tune, dyno it on the bigger jets.
