Default Best Oil Filters?

What is regarded as the best filter for the LS6? Do I stick with OE or go for somethin fancy like the Mobil 1?

Also, what size is it?

I go with the Mobil 1 filter. Also, the K&N Gold filter is pretty good too. I believe the M1 filter part number is M1-107 for the LS6. You should be able to do a search come up with more information....

I have been using the K/N myself, liked the results i got from reading up on it...Also, has a 1" nut on the bottom for extremely easy oil changes...

Ive used 20 different brand filters on 30 different race and performance cars overe the last 30 years. none of them ever failed, not were any engines lost due to oiling problems. I raced a 409 chevy for 3 years in the early 70's using what amounted to a toilet paper roll as a filter. Tore the engine down and the bearings were fine as well as the rest of the internals.

Our auto shop for a project even ran a Fram oil filter without ever being changed for over 100K miles for 4 years and the oil was never changed i na Ford Tempo. At the end of that time, it ran fine and I think we added a total of 8 qts of oil to it. I figured the filter would have blown off at some point but never did. They tore the engine down after I left and it was amazing how well it looked.

Default We recommend PURE Power

I recommend the Lifetime, Stainless steel/aluminum Oil Filter, that Pure Power makes.
It is the only filter that FILTERS the oil going through the filter, regardless of which oil is used. Cartridge can easily be cleaned and re-used. Many articles have been written about it.
www.GoPurePower.com
We sell they for $169 shipped to USA address..

I dunno...since the oil gets changed 4k miles and I don't run it hard on a daily basis, I have the stock oil filter on.

If you change your oil consistently, I would not think it would matter.

If you are changing your Diff fluid and tranny fluid, I would consider anything that the vette shop recommends. Since those are the fluids that will stay longer in your car.

I run my car hard and change the oil evey two times on the track or about 500 miles. Use the AC Delco stock oil filter. Best oil flow, best oil pressure and lowest price or any others.
