Wow, amazing numbers! I think my Heads/Cam/Headers/etc '03 Z06 (in signature) put down around 425rwhp. That's a BIG difference!

Hey Miami993,

Are you still running the stock bottom end/shortblock?

Hi ctusser,

Yes it is the OEM LS6 that came in my ZO6.

As I had a rering under extended warranty just before my last mods, I decided to upgrade the Rod Bolts to the KATECH one.

Other of that everything is OEM here and the pistons didn't required any flycut !!

^ What oil pressure are you seeing with the melling?

Hot idle?
Hot cruise?

I put an LS4 pump in mine and whith 5w40 Amsoil I'm seeing 49psi hot idle and 57ish hot cruise.

Hi Cobra4B,

You can check that in the second video named drivability, I just did it and the oil pressure gauge is clearly visible.

Number showed at 900 rpm oil mini 200° ~ 40
Number showed cruising at 2000 rpm oil mini 200° ~55

With the Melling the pressure goes up quicker than the OEM LS6.

I have the low tension spring in the Melling.

Thats a perfect formula for a great performer. Fantastic how fast it got to 180's range. I really think a new Z isn't worth my o4 Z and a lot of money. I would take your post to a good tuner and say just do this. Best post and videos I have seen for a long time. Did I miss what mufflers you have ? Maybe stock titanium?

Hi skip89,

YES OEM Titanium,
The idea was to be able to drive in town with no cops stopping us every minutes, presently my wife sometime goes shopping with the Z, and the exhaust still has a nice sound when going WOT.

Inside the noise level is acceptable cruising along, like I say, the car is wild and tame...

The stock titaniums sound great on your car. I have a set of Corsa Indies laying in my garage that I think would be to loud with your mods. I love your post and videos...
