Default Lingenfelter Mini-Tub wheel ?'s

I plan on purchasing their mini tub kit and plan on going with 18x10 fronts and 19x12 rears. Could someone please post the correct offset and backspacking figures for this particular setup? I want these rims to go right up to the fender. I wanna go with 285's for the front and 345's for the rear on my Z. Thanks in advance.

You can go 11.5" with a 335 tire without a minitub. Why would you want to start hacking up the car for 10mm more? If youre going to go through all that trouble then go as wide as possible to make it worthwhile.

One thing you have to realize is that it's not just the 10mm of the tire. When you have a wider rim the footprint of the tire is much wider. You can put as big a tire as you want on a smaller rim, but as it bulges outside the rim you lose contact patch.

I just took 335s off my 11.5 CCWs becasue of this. Not many people understand how that works. I expect to get more rubber on the ground with 305s than with the 335s.

I was under the impression that 19x12 was the widest I could go in the rear. Hell if I could go even wider with the tub kit with the tires flush with the fenders by all means let me know. How wide could I go? By the way, your wheel setup in that pic is sweet. That's how I want my setup........tires not stretched, bubbling, but just flush with the rim and fender. Any advice with my original question?

So your telling me a wider rim isn't going to put more tire on the road?

I wouldn't have shown that picture since it kind of argues against your point. Look closely and you'll see the dirt line where the tire is not all touching the ground. My 315's on 10.5" wheel do the exact same thing.

That's probably his "tire shine" that he just put on...

345/30/19's will be a 1" taller tire if you choose Michelin Pilot Sports as I have with the LPE Mini-Tubs. The increased diameter also affects the wheel rub issue even with the Mini-Tubs. If you choose to run 18" rims it may not be issue at all. In addition on a ZO6 the Brake Ducts need to be removed as per instructions with the LPE kit. I am doing the new C5 fender flares soon with 13" wide rims on the rear and combinede with the Mini-Tub kit should allow me to install rear brake ducting without rubbing issues even if I stay with 19" rear wheel

My setup did the same, kind of a waste to have that much tire and loose all that contact area.

In case you're not joking - it's not tire shine - like I said - I've been there before with my tires.

It's not a total waste since in hard cornering that part of the tire (outside) sees some action (think of it like the stock negative camber on the Z06 front) althought I realize it would be much better to have the whole tire on the ground with a wider wheel.

I have a mini tub with 18" HRE's. I had the rear wheels off cleaning them the other day and looked all over for the offset stamping. No stamping whatsoever. I think it's HRE's secret. When I get some time, I'll do some measuring to check it out.

It's stamped in the hub. I don't remember how to read it, but I'll ask Vince @ HRE next time I speak with him.

Definitely do a mini-tub if you want a nice, factory looking fitment (I've done stockers, CCW classics in the "T1" fitment (11.5" rear, 335) and currently running 19x11 CCW 550's (with a BFG 295/35) which is ~99% OEM fitment (in terms of backspace/offset).

If you just talk to your wheel supplier, all the major players know the specifications to accomodate an LPE Tub. John @ CCW would be a great place to start (awesome wheels, great company), and then maybe Vince at IForged (who should also know the specs). They can also discuss variations to allows for different brake fitments!

On my last Z06 I ran 18x12's with 335 Pilots (no tub). I can't say for sure how much contact patch hit the ground, but they looked great and felt great on the road too. Better than stock with the F1's? Probably not, but not any worse...

I totally agree with the contact patch i have a set of classics 12.5 rears with 335 pilots and contact patch is great no inner rubbing there is no point of having a 335 on a 11inch rim contact patch would be same as a 315 so save ur money. I agree with talking to john im looking at his 19x13 Sp500 setup for the tubbed C5.

Oh man, that would be the ultimate sweet setup. If I could find a buyer for my HRE's, I'd buy some SP500's.

You'll have no problem running a 20x12 on the back with a 345/25/20 Pirelli or 335/25/20 Michelin PS2.

Talk to Tab@ElusiveFx.com

He's done this setup for me in the past and i love dit!
