Default Z06 Tire Inflation Kit. Where to buy?

2003 Z06 does not have the inflation kit. Where is the best place to purchase a kit? Chevrolet Dealer wants $600plus! What have others paid?

Thanks

Can you just put your own kit together. Get some tire sealant and a air compressor that will run off of your 12 volt outlet.

Check Tire Rack. They have something called the Conticomfort tire kit, looks like it would be just the ticket. My '04 didn't have one either but the dealer has a kit without the case for around $160. I think I like the Tire Racks' better, less stuff and very easy to use and store.

Gene Culley may be able to get you a good price on one also. The factory kit fits nicely into the spot made for it so it is a little better to have than a jury rigged one that can fly around the car in an accident. You will also need the little piece of bungee cord that holds it in place.

I don't know if the sealant in the kits really go bad over time but remember they do have an expiration date on the kits. The one out of my 02 Z06 ran out in 10/05.

go to wal mart and get a $20.00 compressor that plugs into your power point and a $10.00 plug kit and you're all set. if that doesn't give you enough peace of mind get a can of fix a flat too. i tested my compressor and it works fine. save your money.

I was bidding on that one myself, quit when it got over $100...compressor from my favorite auto parts source (no sealant needed) tire plug kit and a lightweight aluminum scissors jack didn't cost me close to $100.

Does that include a case, sealant and compressor Gene, or do the components come loose in a plastic bag...that's a significant savings that I might have to jump on.

It says without holder. That's the only thing I can think of that it doesn't come with, the case.

Thanks,
Gene

Gene,

For those of us who have 01 and 02 Z's and have not used the stuff in the kit. Do you sell current new replacement bottles? How long is the shelf life on your new ones? Thanks, Don

Hi there,

GM does not sell the bottles separately.

Thanks,
Gene
