Some of the radiators will have intigated oil coolers. DeWitts for one.
GM Performance Parts has a seperate oil cooler that is mounted infront of the AC condensor. This is what I use.

DRM also has an oil cooler that works very well. I have been using it for a year on my 02 Z06. Even on a 100deg day on track the oil was still at a safe setting. The cooler is a Setrab unit which are very efficient and high quality. The lines use AN10 fittings and are cut to length. They also have the adapter that comes off your temp sensor. 1 kit and a relatively easy install.

Looks like the LSx version is $650. For that price you might be better off upgrading to a bigger radiator with a built-in oil cooler.

The choice is yours.
I just looked on the GM Performance web site and the sepeate oil cooler kit is no longer there. They still have the MN6/12 trans cooler kit.
trans cooler left / AC condenser / Oil cooler right

I use the DRM cooler. It's kept my temps under 280 in Texas in July and August on the track. Normal cruising temp is around 180 (little cool). It was a well done and worthy mod, IMHO. I had the braided lines covered in cut heater hose where they cross frame members, to avoid abrasion, and I check them every time I happen to be under the car. I considered the integrated cooler/radiator (also from DRM) and decided on the seperate cooler because of the temps I was seeing pre-cooler and because the integrated model is not SCCA legal in T1.

YES and NO. the sepeate oil cooler keeps the oil cooler system keeps the oil temp lower in the summer. However, in the winter the sepeate cooler does not get the oil warm enough with the built in cooler works better.

IN NC my winters are 40* Even then it is a bit of a challange to get the oil UP TO 180*
We have had a few paddock temps in the 120s ( shade ) and 100 % humidity. Might have been 140-150 in the cocket too.
Oil cooler kept the oil in the 255-260 range. A bit on the high side, but better then 300.
Cool suits kept the drivers in good shape
Chit some guys were boiling he windshield washer fluids under the hood it was sooo hot.
I run 15-w50 M1 year round. and change my oil every two weekends on the track.

I've been running an external cooler for 2 full seasons, and it's definitely worth it if you're autox or tracking your car. If you only run on the street or strip, definitely DON'T do this mod.
Here is a link to my install guide. IIRC, total cost was a bit under $500, and >$150 of that was for the engine adapter.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

I agree with Mike above. For the street and strip and oil cooler radiator combo will work wonders.
Dedicated road race /DE cars, the seperate coolers for high cooling capasities.

I'm guessing the only integrated oil cooler with the rad is the DRM piece correct? Anyone have any experience with it? I drive my car a lot on the street, but also do a handful of HPDE's. Last night I was driving around in 28F weather so I need the integrated piece.
