Lifting the vette will be more of a challenge then your f body. Use pucks at the lifting points. You will see the long oval type wholes in the frame. 5W-30 is good in most places. If it is really hot all the time go 10W-30. I use Amsoil fluids throughout my car. I also use their EAO32 Filters. Redline or stock Mobil 1 are all good. Enjoy the Z! Don

I built some ramps by screwing some 2 x 12 together and when its time for an oil change I drive the car on those. 5W-30 Mobil 1 here

We use German Castrol on both cars (LS6 block/LS1 Camaro and LS6 Corvette) and K&N filters.

Do not use Fram oil filters.
You also can mix Mobil 1, according to Mobil, so if it will be about 32 degrees and under use the 5-30 but if it is about 70 degrees use 3 qts 5-30 and 3 1/2 qts 10-30.
Knowing that there is more oil in a 10-30 than in a 5-30 (which has actual oil replaced with friction modifiers ) I would use a 10-30 which even GM says is OK to 32 degrees in their owners manual. They put 5-30 in at the factory because then they can claim slightly better gas mileage and pay less CAFE related taxes. A 10-30 would hurt their corporate ratings and increase their taxes.

Amsoil Series 2000 0W-30 oil with the EAO 32 filter. Also worth consideration is moving to Amsoil ATF in the transmission and Synthetic Gear fluid in the differential plus the addition of magnetic plugs in the crankcase and differential.

Do what the service manual tells you to do. You will not go wrong. Basically, it says for your year car change every 15K miles or once per year. That is what I do and I beat the hell out of my car on the track, autocrossing and just driving. As long as the oil meets GM specs you will be OK.
