[Z06] any thoughts on the C5 rear fascia overlay

I don't like it because it sticks on and looks raised up off the surface of the bumper. They don't always fit well, either. $400 too? with or without lube? If you like the look paint is astronomically cheaper. Personally I don't like blacking out the bottom at all. To each his own, but you asked.

Why wouldnt you guys just paint it? It looks so much better and its cheaper. The vinyl and plastic ones look like crap up close and are a ripoff. Do what makes you happy to your car. Dont worry about the next owner. They will probably like it better painted that way anyways.

RedZed: how about I trade you a pic of my car for a MUCH larger version of your avatar?
on a serious note, I dont have any pics right this second, but i'll get a good one or two in the next couple days. I work 13 hour night shifts in a hospital (where I am currently), and i dont drive the car to work, but if the weather is nice tomorrow afternoon, i may bring it out of the garage and take a few....

i have never been a big fan of tiger shark kits , personally i think corvette team did a good job on the rear end design ..i got my lower rear fascia painted ( me and my buddy did it in less than an hour even though we have no experience with painting), it cost me about $20 and turned out really good... i just couldn't pay $400 for a piece of plastic..here's a link if you wanna do it yourself http://www.smokinvette.com/corvettef...read.php?t=839
and here are some pix after i painted mine i also purchased a black out kit to match the lower rear fascia and tinted glass .. i like the new look
Before
and after
the trick is to pick a bumper paint either satin or flat black to give a sporty look ..i saw some C5s with glossy black but not really impressed..

Yeah, if you get a chance post a pic, I think that would look nice on Black.

I just discovered this stuff... what was the final cost after everything was said and done.. did you apply it yourself?

i applied it myself, and i wont lie to you: it was a major pain in the ***! but the results are well worth it, in my opinion. still trying to get pics. this is my last night at work for a couple days, so maybe i can take a few tomorrow if the weather is nice. i tried pictures in the garage, but the lack of light just doesnt do it justice. i think it looks great on the black because its such a subtle change...
