C6 Z51 rotors upgrade on C5 Z06?
anyone install a C6 Z51 Chevy Corvette Brake rotors on a C5 z06?
the auction site we love has the kit bellow..what you guys think??
will these clear stock c5z06 wheels? will these work with stock calipers and stock brake pads???
price is $700 bucks
Replace your stock 1997-2004 C5 Corvette or 2005-2007 C6 Corvette brakes with this 2005-2006 C6 Z51 brake upgrade kit. These rotors are substaintially larger than stock and will result in much improved braking performance. All parts are NEW factory GM parts. The following parts are included in the upgrade kit:
(2) C6 Z51 340mm x 32mm (13.4" x 1.26") Front Rotors
(2) C6 Z51 330mm x 26mm (13" x 1") Rear Rotors
(2) C6 Z51 Front Abutment Brackets
(2) C6 Z51 Rear Abutment Brackets

I used the calipers and pads from the Z51 and had them powder coated....rotors and brackets only for 700 bucks is not a great deal in my opinion as I got everything for 600 CAD which is about 500 USD
pads calipers brackets and rotors....
I will add apicture of a side on view with 19" CCW

you have to upgrade to 18 inch wheels in the frt. the 17 inch oem Z06 frt wheel will not fit over the z51 brake upgrade
your stock caliper and brake pad will work with the z51 rotors and brackets
your stock caliper and brake pad will work with the z51 rotors and brackets

Quality stock stuff works well I hear.
I was going to do this also but was told by the racers on this forum that a good quality rotor/pad combo will work just as well as the C6Z51 setup and all the stock parts will still fit. I ended up just getting some aftermarket rotors (not expensive) that aren't a forum sponsor so don't think I can say their name and some Carbotech 1521 pads. The combo has worked fantastic for me so far. I don't do track events just very hard street driving so your mileage may vary.
