I have a '03 Z06. I plan to install OEM brakes from a C6 Z06. I plan to use stainless brake lines with the install.

My question for those who have done this, is do I need brake lines for a C5 or do I need some that are for the C6 or are they the same?

I put steel braided Goodridge lines on mine and switched to Blue ATE Dot 4 fluid with Hawk HT10 pads. The results are amazing. Still streetable pad but when you road race them and get them hot they will thought your eyeballs on the dash.

Thats all really good info but really doesnt answer my question. What stainless lines did you install your C6 Z06 calipers on your C5 Z06 with?

Were they a kit with a part number for a C5 Z06 or a kit with a part number for a C6 Z06?

He did give info regarding the lines.

Use any C5 Brake Line and you should be fine. I bought the above mentioned lines as well.

Buy the C5 brake lines, not the C6 ones.

Or you can use your stock brake lines. Personally I bought the Goodridge lines for a C5 and it make the install very easy

Question: WHY are you doing this? If for bling.....go for it. If for racetrack performance, may I ask that you reconsider, because it is expensive and will not resolve your track braking problems. I recommend that you access the Roadrace and Autocross forum and search on C6 brakes. I also suggest that you use one of the performance brake (BBK) manufacturer's (Stoptech, Alcon, Brembo, Wilwood, etc, with cooling ducts) if you are trying to upgrade for track performance.

I thought the C6Z frts were 6 piston brembos and the rears were 4 piston ?

They are 6 piston front and 4 piston rear, BUT the manufacture is PBR of Australia.

If I track the car ever, it would be maybe once a year. I have researched this and know that a track dedicated car needs different brakes than the C6 Z06 setup but thank you for your concern.

Also thank everyone for the info on the C5 lines.

I'm in the same boat. My car is not a dedicated track car. But I figure these brakes will look pretty good and at a fraction of the cost of a High end BBK. AND they will be fine for what I'll throw at them.

Oh BTW what Rotors and Pads are you going with?

I've got the DBA 2 piece for the front and Corbotech single backing plate pads for the front as well.

The Rear will remain stock for now and I'll get the same set up for that in the near future.

Also having my calipers powdercoated Yellow to match the car. The "Corvette" logo will be in Black.

The calipers I got had OEM pads in them and were never used. I figure I will go with the OEM C6 Z06 rotors too. I can get them cheap with my GM fleet discount at my local dealer we use for work so I figure they will work fine. If I find myself visiting the track more frequently and getting more involved in track days I will just factor different brakes into the cost of the track experience....no different than any other track related expense.

I thought about powdercoating the calipers yellow to match my car as well but I am going to stick with the red now.
