Z06 owner whines about paint job, but doesn't contact dealer or factory... GM mum
A Z06 owner writes to Consumerist.com (Consumer Reports blog) about his "lousy paint job."
Commenters rip GM quality and Corvettes.
I let GM know about the bad-mouthing, but they were mum, letting a great opportunity to do some good PR slip away...
Details here.

I too have a black Z06 and while I wouldn't call the paint "lousy",it's far from what I'd call a quality paint job. It's acceptable at best, just like the ton o' plastic interior.
But I didn't buy mine for the paint or plushness of the interior. I bought it because it makes me cackle like a loon each & every time I stand on it.

It's seems to me that 99.9999% of the time legitimate issues (especially on the internet) are usually backed up with pictures, Video, and/or documentation from the dealer ect.

Too many whimps in this world that can "compose" a message on a blog or forum but can't stand eye-to-eye and communicate another man concerning issues with their product.....
It's only going to get worse.......

yeah, corvettes don't have awesome paint and they rattle and make loud noises. But I wanted a fast car and I can't afford a Ferrari, so I deal with the little things. Seems pretty logical in my mind.

It seems that people the like to bitch have abused the internet to do so. We go through this on Amazon. We are a manufacturer and we sell over a hundred items a week there. There is a feedback system and most people don't use it. The idiots who can't read leave negative feedback, and they claim the products are smaller than they appear in the pictures. We have the dimensions on the page, but for some reason certain dopes can't seem to either read the description or don't know what inches are. They get the item, and then post negative feedback that they are upset the it looks smaller than the picture looks. We get an average of one feedback for every hundred orders, and half the people like the product and give it 5 stars and the other half give it no stars because they just looked at the picture and figured it was bigger than an elephant, without reading the dimensions! They can return it to Amazon for any reason so they are not out a cent. Meanwhile, returns are a loss for me. That's fine- I want my customers to be happy. But be fair. So when people bitch on the internet, I figure the complainer is a moron. If there is a problem and you can't get satisfaction after going through appropriate measures, let us know how you were screwed. In most cases, the buyer has incorrect expectations. Don't bitch online...call your mommy and she will make you feel all better!

Strange as it may seem - I litterally chose to keep my 03 Z06 rather than trading up to a 360 Modena for a bunch of reasons, the biggest one is that the Z is faster, and rattles less. Not to mention that the Z gets much better fuel mileage and dosent sound like a sewing machine.

Lol, both if that's possible. I have a lot of respect for both cars, but you have to expect a lot of difference between $50k and $250k.
I think I'll sacrifice my paint quality for better performance. If you want the best in all aspects, be prepared to pay for it.
