Default Time for new tires, opinions please.

I have the Toyo TR 1's front & back now and its getting close to the end. I'm looking for good straight line street traction with my mods ( NA366 rwhp) & also wet traction as it is driven. I don't want to run DR's on the back. I do like the look & reports on the Nitto Invo's as the rears are available in 295/35/18's but not the fronts. Any suggestions on what I can run the fronts with if I have the invo's on back? I see the 17" invos come in 245/40/17 would that create any problems going down to that size? Any suggestions welcome.

Default update.

I did a search and see the 245/40/17 would be 24.7" diameter as opposed to the rear being 26.1" Diameter. I guess that would be to much of a difference & cause the traction control issues.

I liked them in the rain and they are quiet enough for me, I got 32K out of them over the past 5 years. I would like a tire that grips better in dry if I get into the pedal. I'm hoping the nitto's have advanced enough to make them more attractive in what I'm looking for since I bought my toyo's 5 yrs ago.

I have the toyo TR 1's on right now, I switched from Michelin PilotsPS2, I only switched to see if it was a better tire, and they were a little cheaper. They have about 1,500 miles on them now and are finaly starting to get sticky and perform how they were meant to perform. But if I did it again I would go with the Michelins again. Nothing keeps the Z stuck to the pavment like the PS2's do.

Anyone have any feedback on the Firestone Firehawk??? I see them on a lot of Vettes, and you can get a full set for a C5 Z06 for under $1K.

275 40 17 & 305 35 18 on ZO6 rims!

Forum Vendor Tread depot has them for $815 shipped. You wont get 32k miles out of them you would be likely to get half!

Best tire for the money!

DOGBOY, those sizes are ok as ratio front to back to within specs. Mich sucks, overpriced and all you do is support french idiots....my opinion only
better traction available for less money, don't believe me research forum and other owners. firestone wide ovals on vettes do pretty well in rain and dry is not to bad but not a real track type tire, mileage is inpressive at over 40k if you do the maintenance and don't track them very much. good luck on your search. invos or conti dw are my next choice to try.

I have them on mine, they were on there when I bought it. They seem to be wearing fine but they are hard as a rock and offer no traction what so ever. Other people on here disagree with me, maybe i drive harder than they do but that is my opinon of them. I won't get them again.

Yeah, of course that's always the trade-off... higher mileage rating = less traction and hard as *****... more traction = lower mileage rating.

Michelin PS2's are the best all around tire I've owned. Perform ridiculously great as a track and street tire, and solid in the rain too. Very quiet too, and last a good while.

Michelin PS2's have been the best all around tire, excellent in every category. Their only negative is the price. I might consider trying Conti Extreme Contacts next time if there is a considerable price difference.

Bridgestone Potenza Re760 sport. You won't be disappointed. I run them on the Vette and my C63.

I recently got Invos, and I really like them, but I've also heard great things about Hankook Ventus, and if they're available in the sizes you need, might be worth a try. They kicked the PS2s *** in a recent mag comparo, where the spendy Frenchies finished mid-pack.
