The end of all jacking puck discussion
I just did an oil change on my Z, and as I went to jack it up, I realized I didn't have any jacking pucks or wood or really anything to use. So, I thought for a minute and realized that my '95 M3 also uses jacking pucks that stay on the car all the time. So, I got a screw driver and popped off one of them to use.
The tabs from my M3 puck fit perfectly into the notches on the Z. It's like they were made for the car.
So, to anyone looking for a solution to the jacking puck problem - you've found it. Go to http://www.bavauto.com/ and just search "pucks". They are only $13.95.

Not the first time I've seen this on the forum, and I've read that they have a tendancy to fall out. I can't confiorm that, but I wonder if they scrape on lowered cars, and that's why people lose them since they hang down lower than the body.

They only stick down a 1/4" or less. I think just going over bumps jars them loose.

The idea of using the BMW pucks has been around for at least as long as I've been on this forum. They work great on the C5/Z06 cars. Prices have obviously gone up significantly since I bought mine from BAVAUTO. I think I paid $8.95 for them. I leave mine installed all the time and have never had one fall out. Get the round version instead of the square version...

I modified my floor jack as well to fit the metal pucks with the tab that fits into the frame. The BMW pucks are good for going to a shop that uses those 4 post lifts with the big flat pads.

I wonder what "emergency" will be handled by a jacking puck in the trunk?
Are you also hauling a jack and a spare tire around?
O well. .Bought mine from Katech. Keeping my money in the family, you know those people who built the 8.2-liter (500ci) all-aluminum small-block V-8 engine that produces 600 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. torque for the Pratt & Miller Corvette C6RS.
I would never in my worst nightmare, give money to BMW.
