You will get different answers on the need for a catch can on lightly driven cars. Some say no need, some say for sure.
You can pretty much answer that for yourself by removing the throttle body and sticking your hand into the intake manifold...
If your hand comes out covered nasty dirty oil, you would benefit
If your hand comes out clean, then there is not need for one in your application.
Hope that helps

It would not look any different mounted on a Z than any other C5 Corvette (or C6)

I was talking to a friend about this, and he told me that I wasted my money. I showed him a picture of all the oil trapped from hard driving, and he said, so what happens if you suck in a little bit of oil that's burnt up anyways? it's like a 2 stroke then. and plus why would GM release an engine with a problem like this if it was such a big issue...
So it makes me wonder now
what disadvantages does oil have going into your engine?
only one I can think of is you don't gunk up your intake manifold, which would trap micro dust/dirt that the filter couldn't catch, which in due time will turn to crust and limit air flow. as far as engine internals, I don't see how it can be bad in any way though?

It's not really a major problem, and many cars suck in oil (mostly boosted cars). A catch can is just one of those things that can help improve engine longevity and performance, especially if you like beat on your car a lot.
