Installed my Double D Mods stereo kit.

Dennis set me up with a new console so I would not have to drive for 2.5 months without one in the car so will get core charge back when I ship mine to him this week. http://shop.doubledmods.com/C5-Corve...enc5DDX492.htm

Stereo- Kenwood DDX492 (BT, HD Pandora, CD, etc). I did not want Sirius or rear camera so left it basic. I wanted it as I have thumbdrives full of music and can also hook my DROID up to it as well and play off SPOTIFY. Also bluetooth sync for Pandora if wanted along with regular functions.

Install Kit- OEM-1 PAC wire harness kit, Pro Delux Mounting Brackets (worth their weight in gold).

Console- Modified and left ashtray and 12v source....as will run my Nav through the 12v and have the USB plug running into ashtray bin where the thumbdrive sits when being used out of the way.

Install went pretty much by the book though I did have to call him on a few clarifications and very glad I did:

- Instructions have you taking (Radio WIres) BLUE/WHITE STRIP to the (new harness) BLUE wire but need to put the PWR ANT (blue) into the line as well or wont have strong radio reception. Was not in instructions but he told me over phone. Think I remember reading it somewhere but definitely needs to be updated.

- Since I have 02 Z and had the Kenwood setup and not the one used in his instructions...I was able to run the PARKING WIRE from back of unit and combine it with the ground wires between RADIO and NEW HARNESS setup. This let me do the bypass for DVD Playback

- Ran power from RADIO harness to passenger footboard and found the taped off wires up at top of footwell...tapped into the YELLOW one for constant power to your AMP.

- Speakers (do not use wires with RED STRIPE)....match solid wires with black striped wires one for one.

- Illumination, tap into the lime green wire in HVAC plug under radio position.

Hardest part was working around console and the back and forth fitting but told with the PRO DELUXE kit it cuts down your back and forth adjustments from 50 to 10-15. I could have adjusted ONE MORE TIME but was tired...so called it good. LOL Used sawzall to cut brackets off...also cut tabs at top rear off...vacuumed up shavings and then went to work.

Did wiring between harnesses on kitchen table...be sure to crimp them down as HARD AS YOU CAN....even though I did the tug test in kitchen...when I was installing had three of them pull out and need crimping again. Hopefully going back over them all will keep me from pulling unit to do them again.

I cut the tips off the UNUSED wires as they had a very small area exposed...just to be safe.

Did a test before putting console and adjusting to make sure wires were all good....sounded good.

All back together now...took me about 4 hours to do the install. I am sure some of you can do it much faster....but I typically take a while.

Only thing I might work on in future....is the angle of the unit is slight towards me in drivers seat...the left edge is not flush with bezel like right side...but may work out to help reduce glare. only about 1/32 difference...but I noticed it. LOL

Thanks Dennis for all the help...now to go through and adjust everything the way I like it...haha

First pic from passenger side...can see thumb drive location in ashtray port. Second pic from drivers with everything closed up.

Default xs headers install

Awesome sound. ridiculous power. Only other mods is black wing, dual valve springs, arp head studs, ls7 lifters and ls7 clutch. Car now gets sideways at half throttle. Combined with titanium cat back it is just wicked sounding. Nothing like what i expected. Next year I'm going to do a cam, ported intake and tb and then a tune. Should be wild. ..

Installed the Sears Die-Hard P4 34/78 AGM Battery in my Z, the original AC Delco unit finally had a cell die. New one is made by Odyssey and cannot leak. Win/Win.....

Default What did I do today

Well made a major improvement on my 02EBZ06 to keep my wife happy, changed my SLP Loudmouths (that I loved-she hated) for a Borla Stinger setup (which we both love), replaced my broken driver side window switch, repaired my windshield washer button problem, filled it with gas and then burned most of it on a 200 mile tour on some winding roads. We enjoyed the day in our favorite toy.

Just bought a 2004 Z16 on Friday, took it to an auto-x on Saturday and Sunday I changed the oil, brake bleeders, took T1 bar off the front and put my Stranoparts bar on and took the Koni adjustables off and put my JRi doubles on. Ordered 4 gunmetal TSW Nurburgring in 18x10.5, got some half worn 315 rt-615k tires from a friend and will be looking at a race seat today...

I'm buying a 04 zo6 next month.
The car is immaculate. 1 owner. 50k miles. 100% bone stock w dealer service records.
What im asking is how much is a fair price for the complete engine. Ls6 intake to batwing oil pan.
I have a boost ready forged 6.0 ls2 that has alredy been proven to make 850rw in another car. So the ls6 is getting swapped for that. With big comp 80mm turbo.
I'm gonna use a c6 or fbody pan for more clearance for the pipes And fast 90 for induction. 1000 hp capable twin disc clutch.
Im thinking 3000-3200$ is a fair price.
Opinions?

Default installed kirban shorty shifter... twice

First install took an hour. But the **** was backwards. Doh! Pulled fascia and turned it around. Incredible difference in shift tightness. Probably worth a tenth in the quarter mile. Threw some water wetter in the reservoir. Ran out of time to bleed the clutch. Mañana...

Are you selling it with all of the accessories complete ? My guess is that it's worth about $2,500 dollars or so. You are selling a used motor with 50K miles on it and you need to take that into consideration in your price.

Lots of guys would rather swap up to a LS2 or LS3 motor as you get more bang for your buck.

IMO if you got the dough I'd sit on it and find something cool to put it in...older RX7, subie BRZ (if it'll fit), miata, Jeep wrangler (OH yeah!) etc.
