From what I've gathered, the display might not be as bright and sharp without the HUD glass, but I can live with that. Eventually, I'd like to get a new windshield anyways due to it being 10 yr old glass (pitting, etc.). I'll just make sure its HUD glass at that time.
To follow up on my previous question about the harness: It seems that we can just modify the existing non-HUD harness to work by simply adding 4 new wires and probably a little bit of soldering. Haven't read through the step-by-step yet, but it seemed doable.
With that said... I just placed my order. Thanks again, Patrick!

you're talking about 2 different animals. C5's had pre wiring for HUD after like 98 I think up untill they ended in 04. In the C6 model which would be 05 to current, the harness has to be custom made to interface with projector and switch.

I am guessing you mean a 2008 1LT. lol If so what andrew is saying is that a custom harness must be used for all C6's. IF you are reffering to a C5 to a C5 then the harness would work

That should probably read 11/16. I think you sent me an email? We haven't received the HUD's yet and should be any day and then we'll ship out the kits.

sorry to hijack. My first post
I am wanting to ad a heads up display to a '68 Camaro street rod. It will have an LS7 and it's matching ECU. Can this be done without using the Corvette instrument panel?
thanks

I don't think so, if you go to the nippon seiko website that makes the cluster and HUD you'll see how they interface. Camaro makes one as well you might be able to retrofit but will cost quite a bit more.
