Slammed the Z06!
I finally got some time this long weekend to slam the Z06. Apparently women dig slammed cars and non-existant wheel gap.
Enjoy the pictures!

Thanks guys! Tow hook is poking fun at my friends that have them on their 200hp cars.

Don't forget to have the alignment adjusted and be prepared to begin cracking the underside body panels on every crowned driveway. If you're lucky you'll miss any rocks that will fracture your oil pan like I did. I love the look of my lowered Z but you should see the damage its done!

I believe that with the stock suspension, lowering it only about 3/4" - 1" has been shown to be the optimal handling setup. Truly "slamming" the car negatively affects handling, unless you have coilovers that allow you to maintain full suspension travel.

"mchicia1" is right. If you are on stock springs and cut the rubbers and used longer bolts you have effectively crippled your handling. On a billiard table it might be ok. On any real road not so much.
It gets worse too. Even if you don't slam into the bump stops the suspension geometry is too far out of whack. Coilovers hide it some but the problem remains. The control arms are at a very bad angle. Especially in the rear. Watch out for the tops of your shocks and breaking them. The top of the piston is at a very compromised angle now.
All that said the car looks great and so does the gal! So unless you're road racing. Who cares.

I don't know how you get around like that. I'm lowered all the way on stock bolts and can't go any lower without trimming stuff. I was scraping only once in a while, but then I had an A&A Supercharger kit installed. Now, intercooler scoop scrapes on even the smallest little dips. It's terrible. There is no way I can go any lower now. I didn't really care too, but even the stock bolts are making it very hard except on the best of roads.

Having a seriously lowered car definitely isn't for everyone. I'm paranoid about where I drive. I need wooden boards to get out of my driveway. I plan my route so that there are no speedbumps. My CD player skips over numerous bumps.
But it's all worth it (for me - not eveyone) for the look. I love this car and love the stance. I have rail savers in the front and on the side, too.
Why no coilovers? I'm saving for a house and financially they just don't make sense at this point in my life.
