Anyone in the Austin or Houston vicinity skilled at doing the ti bypass mod? Hit me up I'm ready to do it.

Why don't you guys put DMH Electric Cutouts on your cars. This way you can have it quiet when you want, or screaming loud when you wanna have fun. Love my cutouts.

I'm considering this mod too. Do the cut outs need to be welded in or is this a DIY type of job?

I installed my low profile cutouts on the 90 degree bend just prior to the mufflers. A hole must be cut in the pipe and a bracket is welded onto the pipe and the cutouts are bolted onto the bracket. My neighbor welds for fun, and was able to install them on my vette in about 2 hours. I ran the wires for them in about 30-45 min.

Greatest mod I've ever done.

here is a picture of where my cutouts were installed. You can't see them unless you practically get under the car.

The cut outs are a bit pricey. I think the ti bypass is the sound I'm looking for. Just need to find someone in the Austin / Houston area with the materials and skills to do the job!

I hate to sound like a complete dolt, but what's the difference between a "by-pass" and a "cut-out"?

by-pass will make your car louder all the time with some exhaust going through the by-pass and also diverting through the mufflers. With cutouts you can open and close them making your car as loud as you want, and back through your current exhaust in a matter of seconds.

Thank you. That would explain the question of expense. I have a stock car with the stock exhaust. Can I assume that welding titanium would be more costly than other exhaust systems? ...and as long as I'm begging for information, how would I go about finding someone to perform the task in SW PA?
You've been a great help.

I don't know if it would be more costly or not. From what I've read through many threads, any good muffler shop could do the labor for you. Just search your area and get a few quotes.

Titanium is difficult to weld and most standard muffler shops can not weld titanium.

Hello Mr. Johnson,

Do you throw a code with the cut outs?

Thanks,

Ken

I can give you the name of the guy in Houston who welded mine. He did a great job and was reasonable.

Can you PM what it cost to get done and where? I'm definitely interested.
