Get Your LS7 Clutch Kit With Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel Option From GM Parts House!
Hello All,
Thank you for your interest in our LS7 clutch kit. Many people ask us how much horsepower this clutch can hold. GM doesn’t have any official numbers but you can count on 650 horsepower. We have not had any reports of issues with this in any vehicle, unless you take it to the track and constantly dump the clutch. If you’re dragging the vehicle, then you need a different clutch.
With the 2004 Z06 GM updated the slave and master cylinders for a bigger bore to allow more fluid flow. The slave and master cylinders that we sell are only the 2004 Z06 and fit all C5’s from 1997-2004. The slave cylinder also comes with a new throw-out bearing. We recommend a new pilot bearing when installing as well.
To order, please call 484-949-2099 or go to www.gmpartshouse.com and use the part numbers you see below.
Thanks. Gene.
Our independent in house weight test results were stock LS7 flywheel 26 lbs. 11 oz. and the Fidanza aluminum flywheel 13 lbs. 5 oz.

*Clutch does work in any LS1/LS6 drive train but must also have ls7 flywheel.

We now also provide a clutch alignment tool with the kit and the kit from GM does not come with this so we have added it for your convenience!

Burning Brakes
Clutch related... And a Bump
Blew out my knee. The clutch in my 99 FRC is MUCH harder to push than the clutch in my '02 Z06. How can I order an "easy to push" clutch master cylinder like the one on the Z, to install in the 99 FRC? (Both cars stock)
There only seems to be one replacement part number (clutch master) for all C5s. Can I assume, this is the later "soft" one?
Thank you.

LS-7 Clutch
I would be interested in hearing how the lightened flywheel affects the car and whether or not there are ay negatives by going this route. I have a 2003 ZO6 450 RWHP that is in need of a clutch in the near future and this thread got my attention. Thanks guys.

I think either way you will be pleased with the clutch. I have 750 HP in my Camaro with this clutch and it works well.

LS-7 Clutch
Thanks Gene I used the LS7 set-up in my former 01 Z (standard weight fly wheel) and I loved that set up it worked great. My only concern is the reduction in fly wheel weight and how it affects the car. Maybe some will chime in here with some input. Thanks again I will order my set-up soon.

Clutch parts for '02 Z06
I have the clutch kit in my cart, and want some other items. I want a roller pilot bearing, I need a new slave cylinder (I can't get the throw out bearing off, unless you have some ideas). I also need a clutch alignment tool, closeout boot, shift boot, and the locking wedge for the shift ****. If you know where I can get a pilot brg. puller that would be handy too.

I had this flywheel in my last Z (Kevlar clutch tho). The car revv'd like a motorcycle, and was certainly punchier. I pulled 394hp on the dyno with a vararam, long tubes/pro cats, stingers, tune, etc... I do not have a direct dyno with this change only in it, but I was 10-15hp up on most folks that had a similar setup.
This setup with the ls7/fidanza is my next clutch setup for sure. I almost look forward to wearing this stock one out (just got another bone stock c5z with 24k miles).
Gene, you will see an order for me soon. Just waiting on the headers now so that I can do it all at once.
