Isn't the LSA the motor from the CTS-V? That'd be a 6.2L low compression engine, IIRC. Unless you're talking about a complete crate motor, and you can build one cheaper than that.

The closer I look at the LSA, the less I'm impressed with it:
chevrolet.com/performance/crate-engines/lsa.html#dyno

It's a 6.2L engine with a positive displacement supercharger, yet, my NA 5.7L makes more power to the wheels than the LSA makes at the flywheel, up until RPMs exceed 5k. All I have is bolt-ons and a small cam.

The LSA's torque curve looks more like it has a centrifugal supercharger rather than a top-mounted one. Does anyone know why this is?

traction and drivability would be my guess. tame around town and a monster when you get into it

Yeah, I just didn't realize you could get that type of torque curve out of a PD blower. I'm used to seeing them with huge low-end numbers. I guess it's all in the cam they spec'd for this particular engine.

It may not fit under your hood. There are other options with greater performance for less cost.

I'm pretty sure it won't fit without a new hood. The LSA has quite a few lesser grade components than the LS9 of the ZR1, IIRC.

Ok it may be cheaper to build something.

But I have 6k in the complete motor with 24k miles

my buddies zl1 Camaro put down 624whp with headers pulley and tune and booster pump.

So im thinking BTR blower cam and same mods like my buddies would make plenty of street able power.

The lsa is onlt 1.9" taller in center of engine compared to the ls6 in the car.

Also wondering if I can have tuned like a regular bolt on procharger.

Or will I have to piggy back later model computer? because of the way the boost pump works in relation with boost? (any help on this would be great.

Thanks again for all the help and opions

2" Is a lot. I don't know what the stock hood clearance is but my car with a FAST intake is rubbing the hood liner.

If you've already got the motor...then great. Make sure you do a pulley swap and a good tune to wake that motor right up.

My Halltech intake rubs the hood due to the increased angle from the extra height of the LSXR 102 intake manifold; you will definitely need to replace or cut your hood.

Honestly? It would be cool, but depending upon what you are doing with the C5Z, it probably isn't the best choice...even at the relatively inexpensive price point.

If you already own the LSA, wouldn't just buying a custom hood, and a little fab work make it work? Guess that depends on how much you lose on the next transaction. You might be able to do a Big NA, or even a small FI setup for the money you save. Win/Win.
