Z06 2003 Model Rarity
Hello People:
I just bought a 2003 Z06 Corvette last week with only 16,400 miles on it in showroom condition. I thought that it was a 50th anniversary 'vette as it had the 50th anniversary hood logo on it.
After some research I saw that the 50th anniversary models were all red and there were no silver Z06 models that were 50th anniversary cars (mine is quick silver).
There were about 11,600 anniversary 'vettes made and only 8,635 Z06 couple made that year. Is my Z06 more valuable/desirable than the 50th anniversary 'vette or less so as it is not a 50th anniversary model?
This is my 1st corvette and I am only learning about them from scratch, so any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all
Jim O.

the AE is the 2003 coupe or vert in mag red with shale interior. those are the anniversary cars
every 2003 has the badges but they are not considered anniversary cars

value? check auction closes. the AE car that pulls a premium is the convertible with low mileage. under 40k miles and in mint shape they are mid 20s cars, 30 wouldn't be unheard of for a like new 1,000 mile vert.
no idea on the coupe. have never seen any go through auction.
21 would be a really good deal on the z06 and 24-25-26k is the retail range.
personally i think the AE cars scream rolling wheelchair but there are apparently a lot of wealthy old people who want one

I paid like $24,500 at the dealership. I live on Long Island and the prices are higher in NY than say Kansas. Mine only has 16,450 miles on it. The guy who owned it I guess was in his late 50's and him and his wife bought it brand new and they used to drive it together. Then she died and he didn't want the car anymore. Kelly's Blue Book rates the price at $34,500.00, so I think I got a good deal..

kbb has no real bearing with these cars, they all trade off NADA. i'm really not sure why kbb values are so far off unless it's just so dealers can say they are selling under book.

Its not an anniversary model or anything like that.
I hope the dealer never said it was.....
Be happy that you got the best performing C5 out there..... The Z06 !

The whole concept of a "collectible" C-5 is kind of a stretch. Buy it, and enjoy it, whatever the miles it has. Mine's an '02, with 19k, and about $15k in mods..... worth from 19-32k depending on the buyer and the seller's patience....if it was for sale. You want an investment; buy a CD.

Yeah - I hear you Zeevette. It's for pleasure not an investments (have enough of them - LOL). Thank you everyone for your feedback. Unfortunately the cold winter weather forced me to put the car cover on for the duration. Hope to start to explore and play with my new Z06 after Thanksgiving (that will be the two week anniversary of me owning my 1st vette).
