Default Help needed, replacing seat foams...

So, I ordered new seat foam for my drivers side, removed the seat, removed covers, and old foam. I was careful with the fir tree fasteners so they are not destroyed but I thought it would be best to replace them. Stopped by the dealer to pick some up and was told that they are special order and are $7.90 a piece and only come in a pack of ten. In other words $80.00.

I'll use the old ones before I pay that much. Has anyone run into this problem before? Is there any know alternatives? I'm gonna stop by the auto parts store to find something close but figured I would check here first. Any ideas?

Go to your local hardware store eg. Lowes and for $8- you can replace them all and have a few left over. Find them at the screws/nuts/bolts section.

You could also try any good upholstery shop, they use them like M&Ms

Thanks, figured there was an easy answer. I was just shocked by the price at the dealer... Should have known better.

Very good advice - and good to know that a hardware store would have them.

Bought mine through Corvette America - bag of 25 or 50 - they also have the tool. Around $10 for both.
