Default '03 Z06 Price

I'm looking at a stock '03 Z06 with low mileage (15k). Any advice as to what one is worth. Asking price is $29. I'm thinking at that price maybe I should be looking at a C6?! I think I'd be willing to pay $25. (It's my third color choice, but has the interior I like)

I should mention it is a private sale.

Am I way off base?

Well, for what it's worth I'll put mine out there. No making up that screaming deal that many often exaggerate about. I ended up settling on 25,500 for mine (Yellow ’02 with 26k miles). A bit more than I wanted but it was exactly my car. The right color, right interior, perfectly documented and completely stock. The guy even put on a brand new set of shoes, and what I mean by new is, they had however many miles it was from the tire shop to his house when I picked it up.

The price on those Z’s in great shape are high. I looked all over, yes there were some deals here and there across the country but none even close to where I lived and none I was going to have the benefit of seeing or driving in person.

There are times to get screaming deals, for me this just wasn't that time. The price was fair and I got exactly what I wanted, which carried a high ‘util’ factor for me.
If I were you, just based on the fact it’s not color you want, not even the 2nd color of choice then I’d pass on the car. If it were 1st in every category then I would say jump on it.

I think if it's in excellent condition, $25K is a fair price. $29K is way too high. For comparison, I bought my 04 CE ZO6, bone stock in excellent condition, almost 3 years ago, with 2800 original miles, for $30K.

I just bought my 2002 Z06 in pristine condition with 8700 miles on it for $26,500. The car is so clean you could eat off the bottom of it. You see, mileage and condition bring a premium. If I bought a car with 40k miles on it, then it would be a few thousand less, 60k miles even more so. Seeing as I will probably be driving 5000 miles a year or less, I can drive it for 8 years and just be at 48k miles.

I gave $26K for an '03 with just under 8500 miles. Your situation sounds high to me. If the car is really pristine, I'd say it's a $24 - $25K car, not $29. By way of comparison, this car is dead stock (Supercar tires and skip shift remain intact), I am third owner, car (supposedly) has never been tracked, and this was also a private party sale. These are great cars, good luck with your quest.

you pay what you pay with those ultra low mile cars. aren't many on the market and no owner i've ever seen with one is in a hurry to get off it.

there's really no angle to work the price on those

Yeah for a C5Z anywhere near $30k it better have under 10k miles. $25k is a fair price for the car you are considering.

If it's your third color choice then forget about it. Imagine you buy it then a car with your first color choice and identical features comes on the market. Each time you drive it you'll be thinking "Could have been driving the car I really wanted".
Take your time. Took me one year to find exactly what I was looking for.

OP: What COLOR? I just researched and shopped for several months. I found that black and red sell for less. Electron blue seemed to go for the most and since it was the color I REALLY wanted, I held out for one. I could have paid 26k for a 03 Black Z with 11k miles for 26k. I also found a nice 04 silver with 22k that sold for 27.5k

I finally bought a 2003 Electron Blue with 6500 miles for 27.3k.

really depends on the sellers. electron blue is the most desirable color and always gets the most, black and red kind of do their thing and sometimes get good closes, sometimes don't. silver is the one that usually closes low. the red interior in virtually every color is a neg. not really that popular anymore. some older guys may pay up for it but i've noticed the same thing you did, the red interiors close for less

The car is silver. I prefer Blue, then Red, then Silver. Nice black interior. I will not buy another car with Red interior.

People on this forum when buying or talking about it always low ball everything, when selling the sky is the limit LOL, prices aren't going down on these cars, there are fewer and fewer low mileage cars available so FWIW I would say if you can get the car for 27K that's a fair deal on both ends. You can wait around for that perfect deal for ever just to brag about it or by the car and enjoy.

Wrong. The pieces I quoted were private party selling prices for nice cars that I either checked out or had a forum member check out. I do agree 27k would be fairly fair, although if it needs tires I would say 26k.

OP: my advice is to be patient, if you shop for a month or two you will find the color you want. Don't ever let 500 or 1000 dollars stand between you and the car you really want. Use kbb, that's what I did. Good luck, find a EB.

Just a few short months I gave $19.5k for my 03 Electron Blue Z06 with 33k miles...the car is immaculate!! The deals are there just look and wait!!! But if you buy the car and are happy with it then it doesn't matter to anyone what you paid for it!!

This helps me too. I am trying to figure out what to ask for mine with 12K miles.

Good luck with your purchase and I would keep looking for the right colour.

Some sellers ask a higher price and hope a buyer that knows nothing about Corvettes comes along and pays it. If a party truly is looking to sell they will price it at what their car is selling for in their area. Cars out east are usually priced $2000-$4000 higher than a comparable car in the mid west. Cars priced right move fast, so if you see a car that has been for sale for weeks or months, it's either way over priced or something is wrong with it.

Cast your net a little further, you should be able to find what you are looking for in the under $25K range.

Agreed. I just paid A lot less for my 02Z. Low $20's is about right for you.
