Thanks.. Left the centercaps off because I dont like how they look with the red corvette emblem. I'm debating if I should try painting the emblem black and/or if there are any aftermarket centercaps available.. I don't like any red on the exterior because it provokes the theme of ketchup and mustard (or atleast in my mind )
I looked thru the photos I took and this is one I didnt post.. Otherwise no I do not currently have a closeup of the front fender. The front DOES "poke" out more than I'd like but it's livable. It's right on the border of being acceptable. I decided I was willing to deal with the less than perfect aesthetics in return for better handling and tire rotation capability. I bought the car for function more than form.

It's not that bad honestly. My '00 z28 has 275/40ZR17's on it that are similarly wide (slightly smaller width) so I'm used to the cars tracking uneven pavement.

Drifting
Looks awesome!!
I went with the 18 X 10.5 wheels all around about a month ago and so far I'm loving it. I went with 275 up front and 315 in the rear and no problems so far. I got a good deal on the tires or I would have tried the 285 up front like you did.
I haven't tried lowering mine on the stock bolts yet, but, plan to as soon as I have a bit of time. I see you went 'all the way' on the stock bolts. Any problems that you've noticed so far? Is ride quality and handling OK?
Thanks!!

Probably a corvette forum myth. They say that you're supposed to have a ~5% difference in diameter front to rear to avoid TC/AH problems. I don't know anyone face to face that actually has such issues- in fact CF is the only place I've heard about it happening. I've been running a square setup for a while and on the track often ran a front tire that was 1 or more inches taller than the rear and used TC/AH and still had no problems. Granted I wasn't doing 200mph runs either...
The ONLY way I got TC/AH issues was when the front tires were completely stationary and the rears were doing 50kph+ on a Dyno (Forgot to turn the systems off).

It has nothing to do with wheel size and everything to do with tire size
It most certainly isn't a myth. 97-00 cars have a different traction control system than 01-04 cars, and the Gen 2 system is much more tolerant of shenanigans than the Gen 1 system. I have heard of very few people who have had any TC/AH issues due to tire sizes on Gen 2 cars, but one guy showed up here with a bunch of errors after a shop rotated his factory rolling stock once

I like the look without the centercaps too but I wish there was some smaller aftermarket centercap that would cover the hubs where the screw type thing sticks out in the back. Basically a centercap but a smaller diameter.

I was just explaining why you never see tire sizes causing issues in the Z06 forum; we all have the Gen 2 TC with Active Handling
