Learned that I don't have enough time to do all my own repairs! Wish I could.
Car (04 Z) started chirping Thursday. Took a small tube to my ear and all pulleys, sounds like it's the tensioner. HOPE it's the tensioner! FT job, side business, fixer house, 9 month and 3 1/2 year old girls. Just can't do it.
Other thing I learned actually today; drove my 03 325i (for sale) to work until my Z gets repaired. Although refined, it has a lot lacking compared to my Z, yousa baby. Feel like I'm driving a truck re-height. Sloppy shifter, lack of power, but it's smooth as butter. Even a work mate came in and commented on how high the 325i is compared to my Z.

I learned that I should drive it to class from now on when it's raining. Front cylinder plug hole fills with water on the bike, running on one cylinder sucks.

It will take you longer to drop it off and pick it up from the shop than if you did it yourself. We're seriously talking about a 10 minute fix here.

I've learned the same thing, but I had to replace the transmission... I wish it had just been a tensioner

Eight months later, the thing is still in pieces in my garage

It doesn't like it if you leave the speed sensor plug unplugged.
