Default Look what happen to PFADT motor mounts !!

I have installed new PFADT motor mounts in my C5 Z06. They worked fine for around 5K Miles until I start to fell strong vibration in the car both at idle and driving !!

I check my crank balancer and it was OK, it was new SLP installed same time with mounts. Then I have decide to remove the PFADT motor mounts and put back the stock mounts.

Stock mounts are in now and the car idle and drive much better and smooth.

Take a look what happen to PFADT mounts that caused the vibration

You can only fool people for so long

do you have longtubes and if so are they coated?... if not and you don't have any kind of heat shield on the mounts then I'm sure the heat from the headers is what caused it... either way I'm sure you can easily source a replacement bushing and repair them back to like new condition, the main parts look to be ok and when working properly they are way better than the stock mount

Yes I do have Kooks long tube headers and it's not coated. When I installed the PFADT mounts I tryed to cover them with the stock heat shield that was on the stock mounts but then I removed it, I did not have a heat shield on them

Another thing if some one planning to install them I would do some granding to the bolt to make more clearance

I have coated longtubes and they don't get anywhere near as hot as some that I've seen with uncoated longtubes... I will never install another set on any car I own without coating them first, that stuff really does help a lot... that being said, I haven't had any problems with my pfadt mounts so far... this is the first time I have heard of this one actually, has anyone else had this issue?

I hope they DO NOT resurface ... another fine example of their (not so par) quality. This $2,000.00 drive-shaft broke from daily driving.

that by definition is an impossibility.

You do no go out of business because you have more customers than you can handle. That is an enviable position to be in from a business owner standpoint. I know I own a business. The problem was mismanagement and/or faulty product.

I guess this will be the destiny for their transmission mounts.

I bought one, but I haven't install it yet.
