[Z06] your top speed in your Zo6?

I'm not a Z06, but...
152 mph, at 145 the widows pop out... tires were old, car had lots more but I did not want to blow a tire and I want to fix the window issue.
Really want to get to the salt flats.
Is the car slower on salt?

You have be putting out 600HP to get close to 200mph.....stock reg C5's have more top-end than Z due to better aero of the back hatch.

NOT TRUE! The difference in top speed is due to the different 5th gear ratio....C5Z has shorter gears, but due to the higher rev limit, the actual difference in top speed is very small. (How many non Z06/coupes have actually run over 170mph with stock power? My stock power 2004 Z06 runs 163mph in the Texas mile....9 runs over 2 days. Try that with a coupe)

181 (looking at heads up) not entirely sure if I believe it. I feel 177-179 is more accurate. 6800 rev limiter in 5th gear. Windows popped out, very loud wind noise, not entirely confidence inspiring. Car is 430 whp, lowered one inch.

these cars are well mannered at high speeds I was surprised at how I never felt any float like I have in other cars, the window thing is freaky though

Sorry, but the Coupe has better aero, less drag actually. (Aerospace Engineer for almost 30yrs) On the FRC, the air "spoils" over the rear glass causing a low pressure area and drag over the trunk, while the coupe the air continues along the rear hatch with little detachment until it comes off the rear of the Car. Why do you thing the C5R's where based off the Coupe and not the FRC. Yes gearing helps also, but the stock vs stock the Coupe has slightly more top end. Not bad considering its down 55hp.....

Salt is very different. Is your 150 with the USFTA?
If so do you have a roll cage?
BTW I hit 145.
I'd love to go back to Bonneville and go for my 150 as well.

When I feel the need I typically mash it until 90-100 and let out but one time I saw the h/u display read 151 just before my friend's cammed C6Z came around by me like I was going the speed limit...
It was late and on a wide open highway. Not smart, but we survived.

I really thought I made it clear about this, that the place for top speed runs is the race track!!!! There are race tracks everywhere now, (and runs like the Texas Mile) so there is NEVER a reason to run these cars triple digits on the street or road. Driving a C5 Z06 at 150 or 160 is NOT a "stunt" or daredevil maneuver, it is just DRIVING. My 63 moves around some aver 150, and takes more attention, but the 04 is very benign to drive at high speeds......just do it on the TRACK

I've topped out 5th twice with a 6600 limiter, so I guess that's around 172 mph on stock tires.
Now with the auto and stall converter slip, I top out around 162-163 mph at 7200....it gets there much quicker tho...
I pretty much run it to 130-140 atleast once every weekend I drive it... On the highways/interstates like boss..
(although not if there is any traffic around....or not much...)
