Default tire size

2001 Z06 with stock wheels and tire size( I think) Question is with 18 in wheels, what is largest size tires that will fit without altering anything? the rears are 295/35/ZR 18 and look short- appears that taller tire will fit in the well better. I'm sure someone has had this thought but cant find in former threads Thanks fronts are 265/40/17

Tire manufacturers won't recommend anything wider than about a 305 on the rear if they are stock 10.5" wheels. I think there are a few 305/35-18 options out there. I know Nitto makes a 315/35-18 also that would probably work.

I've seen 335/30-18s on the rear of C5 Z06s but I believe they removed the rear brake ducts to fit such a wide tire.

Most aftermarket companies that do wheels for the C5 Z06 goes with 305's

Anything larger and it looks aweful unless you custom the rear quarter panel.

Also, I would not go with a taller sidewall for looks to fill the gap. You will reduce handling.

Me, I'm ordering CCW wheels, but keeping the stock off-sets and tire size (just up sizing to 18/19) and just upping the width of the wheel by .5 both front and rear so the tires I select look more flush, like on a Euro car.

Stock, the off-sets are perfect, the rears are almost flush with the fenders already, more so than even the C6 Z06, which sit inward a little.

That's my .02

I was thinking of going 19/19 CCWs. Which CCWs are you ordering? I've been eyeing the new SP540S Hybrid.
I was also going to lower my car on lowering bolts from west coast corvettes, but I'm worried about the top of the tires hitting the fender liners when going over bumps/dips..

you will be fine with 19's just run a 305/30 tire and you shouldn't have any rubbing issues... I have 305/35/19 now which are 27.4" tall and am lowered and I had to remove the rear brake ducts and one of my fender liners has a small hole in it from the tire rubbing

I thought for a hard second about going with the SP510's as I love the look and design of them, but I have pics of both the SP500 and SP510 and on a Electron Blue Z06 and when I look at them, the SP500 just look better on that body style to me.

I really wanted to break out of the mold and be different, but there is a reason that the SP500 is the most popular selection. It just works with the FRC body style. Honestly though, I have never seen a C5 FRC body style with SP500's in person, just on here.

I also briefly thought about the 19/19 route, but my goal is to keep things as original as possible. I feel if you go 19 front, you have to have a really short sidewall to keep the diameters in check and that may look good for show, but I am going for performance and function as I will be daily driving mine.

My original plan was to go 275/305 F&R with RE-11 tires, but I have had RE-11 tires on 4 cars now and am ready to try the Advan Neova AD08R. They have them in stock Z06 sizes, just up sized and they get better marks on Tire Rack over the RE-11 for initial turn-in and that is one thing I love about the Z06 is its immediate turn-in with the stock Goodyears, so I am going with 265/35/18 F and 295/30/19 R.

My only decision left now if go with a 2" lip all the way around, or a 2" lip F and a 3" lip rear, but I need to decide what brakes I am going to do first.

That is another discussion, but right now I am either going with the Baer Eradispeed 2 piece front and one piece rear, or just do the front rotors with a PFC floating dimpled 2 piece rotor.

BTW: That SP540S looks pretty bad *** too, I just couldn't get myself to do it without seeing it on the FRC body first. Let me know what you decide.

A taller tire also affects the gearing thus causing slower acceleration. Also a 315 Nitto tire will fit as the Nittos run narrower than other brands.

there is no taller tire unless you use the 305 35 18 toyo r888

the car was designed with a slightly taller sidewall in front, just how it is

overall height is taller in the rear coming in at 26-26.1 vs 25.3 front

but, some people seem to have cosmetic issues with the front, another option some guys do is use 255 40 17 up front and 295 35 18 out back. the BFG rival is available in this configuration

this is an advantage when boosted, it allows you to stay in boost for a tad longer
