Default What is YOUR ride hieght? Need some help here...

I have a 04 Z that I lowered slightly and am considering putting it back to stock hieght. Just not sure what that is?

What do those that have a stock C5 Z have in inches from ground to all wheel wells as well as the front and rear door sill area? Does your car sit level side to side and measurements read the same, or are you seeing a diff side to side? How much rake front to rear? Thanks.

I just installed coil overs last week so I am still looking for that "just right" ride height. Front down and really low look great but I want the best of both worlds. I still want it to look "right" but not be so low as to drag every where and sacrifice handling. As it sits now You can get two fingers between front tires and fender lip( not scientific I know lol) and just about a 1/4 in more in the rear. To answer your first question I printed several sets of instructions from different coil over manufactures and I can't recall for sure but phfadt, maybe that said stock front was 26.5 I think and rear around 27 inches.

I might drop the front 1/4 inch if all. I think it currently looks great and already feels so much better than stock. I am more interested now with learning how to really dial it in more than ride height at this point.

If you READ your owners manual, it suggests that you lower your car a maximum of 10 mm (which is about 0.5 inches) both front and rear, BUT that your final rake be set with the front (of the frame) 0.5 inches lower than the rear for aero.
d
My car rides at 4.125" at the front jacking puck frame station, and at 4.375" at the rear jacking puck frame station.

Last week I installed DRM Bilsteins kit.

Let the photos do the talking.

My Z06 is not lowered, and I'm not going to lower it.

Mine is 4.5 inches measured in front of the front jacking puck, and 4.625 inches behind the rear jacking puck. T1 suspension and Bilstein sports. Not as much rake as is recommended, but the car is still stable through 140 mph. My understanding is stock ride height is 5" front and 5.5" rear at the jacking pucks as noted.

You could purchase the Trim Height Measuring Tool to set car back to stock height, I purchased mine for $30 on Ebay, I am putting drop spindles on this winter and am going to reset my trim height back to stock and then fine tune from there. A new tool is $300, or maybe find a dealer that can reset it back to stock.

Mine sits just a tad higher than max lowered on stock bolts. All the way down my car handled and rode worse at Sebring. Raised it back up and it was much better.

My brain kicked in last week and I remembered a guy that used to do a little work on my 1st gen camaro.

I called him since he sets up race cars and lo and behold he is very familiar with setting up corvettes. I got mine to hm last week and he got it scaled and back to handling the way it should, as evidenced by my sessions at the track last weekend.

I'm going to get it back to him and just lower it a half inch or so and get a little more rake back in it. Although very steady at the Tx mile at 175mph, my guy thinks it needs slightly more rake to it.

Very happy with being back to predictable handling and no more tail swinging out unexpectedly. Yay!!!

Lowered max on stock bolts is just about right.
Plenty of travel, feels good on the bumps and doesn't look like my Jeep.
