Default Results from my TX mile...

171.4mph in the mile and 147.3 in the half mile. Between 90 degree heat, idling/throttle issues I was fairly happy. 04 Z06 with LS3 based 416. Stock gears, trans and tire sizes.

I'm going to post more info over on the racing section for those who'd like some more general info on this event. Thx!

Just a little detail...once arriving at the hotel Thursday afternoon the car decided it didn't want to idle which promted me to work on it too late resulting in getting late to the event the next morning. You do NOT want to do that. Getting there by 5am to get in line may well get you a 4th run that day vs 3.

Congrats man I bet it was a blast. I am not familiar with what MPH is normal for the 1 mile since I have never done it. But I did do a 1/2 mile event last year in my old C5Z.... I was surprised your MPH in the 1/2 was not faster. I did 154mph at the wanna go fast event in chicago and I was making 440whp... Temp was high 80's or so....

My Z06 is the one with the blue painters tape, The car filming is a Cam/Bolton 02 Z06....

Are you sure about your mph?

Stock C6Z's usually run mid 140s
Stock ZR1's usually run mid 150s

Having not been to one of these before I can't say what is "normal". I talked to a few of the ZR1 guys who were all stock. Their times in the 1/2 were close to mine with upper 146-148. Their mile times were 173-176. I'm guessing my throttle issues MAY have been costing me a couple of mph??? Hard to say.

All the ZR1's in the 150/178+ range had some mods.

I saw a couple of other "stock appearing" C5's. Some were slightly slower some a little faster. All claimed over 500hp at the wheels.

The couple of stock C6 Z's I spoke with we're running 142-144/166-168.

Some of that 50 degree Oct weather would have added some significant mph I'm guessing.

Looks like you ran June 1st with a best of 149.61 which is still extremely well with your HP level at that time.

They had failed to put 3 later runs on the excel spread. the guy who posted it was recording all times. 153.98 was my fastest with 2 others @ 150.xx and 152... There was a lot of missed info or info that was wrong. Thus the reason of that thread. Guy I ran in the video got walked every time by me but the excel said he did 156 in one run when it was actually a recorded 150.xx...

It sounds like their clocks were off toward the end of the day cause their is no way a cam/bolton C5Z is going to run 150... Thats why your 154 doesnt sound right either. Your times in the 140s is right on par what 99% of C5s and C6s run at with that power level.

This year they were having trouble with their clocks as well.. Its a fun event but their equipment lacks.

I'm not saying one way or the other, but like folks love running at Etown for that magic da, I'm guessing there might be those unscrupulous enough to fudge their timing equipment to attract bigger crowds? Not unheard of I suppose.

Guys were commenting that with the high temps, mph was down from Oct runs with 50 degree temps. Some said up to 4-5 mph. Wow.

Not to **** on your thread... I concur w Pete.... The 1/2 mi events I attend are indeed 1/2 mi... But there is a guy at the tree controlling lights there are 4 sets of flags w approx. 10 yrds between each.. this is where the two cars attempt to get side by side at a roll ( desired speed is 70mph) as you both approach to tree the light turns yellow then green, then you hit it..... It happens very fast!

At the time my built LS2 was making 520/510... My best time was 140.. ( w/o a hood)

I have since changed cams, and upgraded to the HS 1.8's... My car is now making 550/530 @ the wheels, the next event is in may and I hope to be in the upper 140's, 150 would be awesome!

Not taking away from your car... Not questioning your integrity.. It just seems like BS to me, as there were some really fast cars out there that day when I ran. My friends 434ci C5Z car was running 143... There was a C6 GS cammed, A&A putting down 900+ to the wheels... He ran a 167.6 trap speed as 168 DQ'd you....

Just my experience....and .02

On the other hand... If you are just taking off from a stop to 1/2 mi w/o trees, w/o bench marks, w/o attempting to insure cars are lined up while rolling then I can see where you might be running that fast... that makes total sense...

I did a 1/2 mile race in Chicago last summer. Ran off the tree against an intake catback Z. He ran 138.4. My car is 99 coupe. I had vararam intake and air bridge, LS6 manifold, LG headers, BB Rt 66 catback, LS7 clutch, Phadt racing stage 1 JOC suspension, and Speed Inc tune. I ran a 138.8 mph.

On the link you posted, they have me switched with the car below me and missed a run of mine. Little computer difficulty thst day. Hahaha

The TX mile is not a timed event, but just a single car at a time with equipment setup to measure speed at 1/2 and full mile. No tree at all.

You are basing 1/2 mile mph's from different events and different elevations and DA's more then likely. The 1st run of the day was me vs a 650hp Bolton/TVS2300 WK2 SRT8 Jeep that did 130mph...

my 2nd race was against a Alpha 9 GT-R from a roll out I think he did 155mph to my 147mph... Roll outs were always slower He was 160's from a dig...

You are also from Texas, I am from Chicago lol, Different elevations, different DA's, different humidity ect ect.... 167 seems right for the C6 making 900whp... There was a guy there I know with a TT 900whp 03 Cobra who did 169mph... Remember when you are talking a 150mph pass compared to a 160mph pass, Its literally about 15 cars... ****, 4mph difference is a few cars...

you can see some better quality, Im @ the 0:25 mark and 3:06 mark, You can see how hard the GT-R pulled me only being several mph more then me. Granted I didnt have the best start and he jumped me. He still destroyed me which was expected. everyone else's mph seems to be exactly what it should given power levels ect. I don't think I was the only one with a misreading lol. Seems my old C5Z ran harder here in Chicago then others have in other states... It is what it is and the next guy is enjoying it now

I was eating up my 305/35/18 MT ET's that day

No BS my friend and I didn't race you or your friends. It was against the blue Z from Canada.

Even though he crossed first, that's not what it was about. It was about the speed and I barely beat him out.
