Checked out a 2004 supercharged Z06 earlier today that needed to be jumped because the battery was dead. Once charged, it fired right up - but there was a burnt plastic smell initially that ended up going away. After the test drive, it was gone as well. I checked everything and didn't see anything. Any ideas? Should I be that worried? Thanks in advance!

Look at all the stuff that was installed with the blower and anything near it. If it's because something is actually wrong, chances are it came from the blower install especially if the owner did it or a shop that doesn't specialize in that sort of thing. Could be nothing though, could be a small meaningless piece of plastic that fell on the exhaust. Get a look underneath if you can and see if a harness isn't laying on the exhaust too.

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely check it out. It's a Vortech V-3 trim, and I don't have much information on when it was installed, etc. But, I will say this - the car is an absolute beast! It's got about 40k miles, and the guy wants $23.5k for it.

Check the alignment of the pullies first. The belt may be wearing.
