Raced a 2015 C7 Z51 with the A8 trans??? Just wondering how the two cars compare strictly performance wise. From a dig, roll, or anything.

I raced a m7 c7, from a 20 roll and I had him till about 60mph until we ran into traffic.

Based on the 1/4 times listed on the forums the Auto is faster than the C5 from a dig. I am not sure how both would be from a roll. My guess is the C7 would slightly pull. A C5 with bolt-ons should be able to stay ahead I think.

The Specs and times between a C7 and C5 Z06 are pretty darn close. Would come down to driver skills, IMHO.

The C7 has more HP and Torque, the C5 Z06 has less weight.

Headers, CAI, and tune on a C5Z would negate any advantages the C7 would have provided the C5Z guys knew how and when to shift. Provided the C5Z had comforbale tires on it (like the Michelins PS2/PSS)

As an owner of a C5Z and have also spent a number of miles on track in the C7/Z51. There is a difference in the gearing, and I believe that the C7 first 4 gears feel lower because of the extra torque. I do know that 5th & 6th in the C5Z pulls harder then 5th thru 7th in the C7.

I ran a C7 here in VA (I mean Mexico) in my C5Z and I was surprised that he didn't run away from me. While it wasn't a legit dig race (He was behind me at a light and I eased through 1st gear until about 3K), he stayed behind me until about 100mph (I mean 55) when I let off and he blew by me. My car dynoed at 385/376. I don't know if it was manual or auto. I didn't run away from him but he didn't catch me. Hopefully he wasn't just messing with me...

I love your guys cars !! I use to have a C5Z as well. I just ordered a shark gray Z51 A8 coupe with black rims and red leather interior. Now the long wait begins.
