Got mine in September. $23,000 private seller, 2004, 31k like new except 2 tiny rock chips on hood, and curb rash on front wheels. Only had to drive 12 hours total back and forth to complete deal.

These cars have tanked in value over the last couple years. Its crazy how much car you get for how cheap they are going. I see 60-100k mile Z06s going for mid teens all the time. Even periodically see a 100-150k Z06 in the low teens. For someone looking for a performance bargin, This car cant be touched.

There is truly never a "Best Time" to buy one if you are hinting towards winter and cars being cheaper. Most sellers have a amount in their head and are reluctant to move on that regardless of the season. Find something you like, set a budget and have fun hunting...
On a side note I purchased my mint old Black 01 Z06 several years ago with 24K miles on it for $17,500 "Bone Stock". Dude had to pay off student loans and was originally asking $24,000, Needless to say I can BS with the best of them ... Anyways I ended up changing the rims and slapping a cam/clutch and headers on it and enjoyed it for a year and turned around and got $25,000 for it with 27K miles ... There is a a$$ for every seat as the old saying goes and some people are willing to pay for it and sell it...

Yeah like June 27, 2007 when a 03 13K Z06 could be bought for 30. Price is still 30 for 13K Z06. Ask me how I know.
To answer OP...yes anytime between now and spring. 22K for a 50-70K miler Z06 is a good price for the seller.

Now is a great time to buy if you live somewhere cold, the dealerships are looking to unload inventory before christmas/december to boost their sales for the year in particularly they'll be motivated to sell a sports car that isn't a hot commodity in the winter.
BTW just picked up a babied 02 Z with 17k miles for 23g about a week ago.

Unless it was modified by Chip Foose or Lingenfelter or something of that nature, value drops - I wouldn't let someone convince me otherwise. The owner of the heavily modded car can (and probably will) be stubborn and wait to sell it for what they THINK it is worth to them - and they may find a buyer, or they may continue to wait while the value of a bone stock unmolested low mileage version of the same vette may actually stay sideways in value or even slightly appreciate at the same time the heavily modded car will continue to drop.

If its got an LS3/LS7 swap and a built trans you should pay no more than $20,000 - doesn't matter what you or I like - you heavily modify a car (and you could argue an engine swap basically changes it to the point it literally isn't the "same car" anymore) and it lowers the value. That's a fact.
